“I have lovely memories of a particular place my husband and I escaped to many years ago. We decided to run away from home for a couple of months so we hired a bure on a deserted beach on Plantation Island in Fiji. We fished, traded our excess for vegetables and anything else we needed, lounged on the beach, swam in the lovely warm ocean, learned to live without television and what were considered the necessary mod cons of life, and ended our days watching the sun set over the sea. It was an incredible time. That would have to be my favourite place to escape to and I’d go back again in a heartbeat.”

“Somewhere not too far from where I live on the NSW South Coast. It will have ocean and forest views to infinity, as well as a wine cellar with lots of those perfect, wickedly expensive Hunter Valley Semillons – perhaps one from the late 50s, and, of course, the company of my lovely wife Wendy.”

“My dream escape is a luxury villa in Tuscany. But my more realistic escape is the beach. I love the sound of the rolling waves, especially at night. It’s a raw natural beauty, nature at its best, and I always feel a sense of peace when I’m near the ocean.”
